The University of Sahiwal proudly announces the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) on 24th February 2026 for the launch of a CSR-funded Tree Plantation Project at the university.
Through this collaboration, SNGPL has extended a generous Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) grant of PKR 750,000 to support plantation and landscaping activities across the campus. The project is designed to strengthen the university’s commitment to environmental protection, biodiversity enhancement, and the creation of a healthier, more sustainable academic environment.
The MoU was formally signed at the Vice Chancellor’s Office by Prof. Dr. Javaid Akhtar, Vice Chancellor, University of Sahiwal, and Mr. Bilal Ahmad, Executive Engineer, SNGPL. The partnership signifies a shared vision to promote ecological responsibility and foster a culture of sustainability within educational institutions.
This initiative will contribute to improving air quality, expanding green spaces, and raising environmental awareness among students and staff. It also underscores the importance of academia–industry collaboration in addressing pressing environmental challenges and supporting community-centered development.
The University of Sahiwal extends its sincere gratitude to SNGPL for its valuable support and for investing in a project that will leave a lasting positive impact on the campus and its stakeholders. Together, both institutions are taking meaningful steps toward building a greener and more sustainable future.
